When pupils leave the school, it is with happy memories of their primary education and an enthusiasm for future learning.
Congratulations to Neve, Eddie, Olivia, Charlie, Georgia, Tabatha, Albie and Isabelle, who took part in the Pyramid Rounders tournament on Thursday 21st June. They played brilliantly as a team and encouraged each other during all of the matches. Well done to you all!
Lots of the children from key stage two took part in the recent athletics competition. As always, the children did a fantastic job of representing our school with everyone trying their hardest in all of their events. What was even more impressive was their sportsmanship towards eachother and the other competitors.Lots of the children got through to the semi-finals in their event with Eddie, Antonia, Sydney and Ben coming either second or third in theirs. An extra well done goes to Hollie who came first overall in the throwing event!
Twelve children from Desert Class recently took part in the Quad Kids Athletics competition. This involved ten schools from North Dorset competing against eachother in a range of events at The Gryphon School. As always, the children represented our school brilliantly and all tried their hardest in all of the events.
The children of Shillingstone CE VA Primary School arrived at school in their smart wedding clothes on Friday 18th May as they held their very own Royal Wedding Day and ‘mock’ wedding. The wedding ceremony had their very own ‘Prince Harry’ and ‘Meghan’ as well as a father of the bride, best man and bridesmaids. The idea of holding the mock ceremony was so that when the children saw Prince Harry and Meghan on the television they understood the special meaning behind the wedding ceremony. The school ceremony was rounded off with a street party in the playground. The school PTA provided a delicious wedding cake with strawberries and ice-cream. Thank you to all the members of the PTA who helped organise this event!
