Shillingstone Primary School celebrates the Royal Wedding

The children of Shillingstone CE VA Primary School arrived at school in their smart wedding clothes on Friday 18^th May as they held their very own Royal Wedding Day and ‘mock’ wedding. The wedding ceremony had their very own ‘Prince Harry’ and ‘Meghan’ as well as a father of the bride, best man and bridesmaids. The idea of holding the mock ceremony was so that when the children saw Prince Harry and Meghan on the television they understood the special meaning behind the wedding ceremony. The school ceremony was rounded off with a street party in the playground. The school PTA provided a delicious wedding cake with strawberries and ice-cream. Thank you to all the members of the PTA who helped organise this event!

Cross Country

Some of our key stage two children took part in our pyramid's cross country competition this week. They worked in teams of four with each child running a lap of our school grounds. Despite the rain, the children did extremely well with the Year 4 team coming third in their category. As well as their fantastic running, I was also so impressed with the children's sportsmanship - well done to all!

A big thank you to the PTA who gave up their time to sell refreshements at the event.

World Book Day 2018

Thank you to all the boys and girls who made a potato book character. They were fantastic! We hope you all enjoyed the day - we are really pleased you managed to solve the message left by our visitors. Thank you to everyone who also sent in an Extreme Reading photograph. All the World Book Day class room doors look fantastic also!
