Reception: Our Learner of the week is Georgia. She has worked really hard in all areas of learning. In Literacy, she has shown a brilliant understanding of letters and sounds we have learnt and she has been practising writing her name so carefully and neatly. In Maths she has been answering questions quickly and her using her fingers to help her work out the answers. Well done Georgia, you have had a brilliant week.
Year 1: Our Learner of the Week is Tom. This week we have been writing adverts for Fairy Tale Bloomers! Tom used fantastic adjectives and connectives, and he even used some emotive language, "if you buy these bloomers they'll make you feel happy!". Well done Tom, I am very proud of you!
Year 2: Our Learner of the Week is Thomas. Thomas wrote a brilliant sales pitch for his Fairy Tale Bloomers using adjectives, connectives, emotive language and adverbial phrases! Well done Thomas, I am very proud of you!
Year 3: Georgia has been chosen as learner of the week for amazing work in numeracy, rounding 3-digit numbers to the nearest 1000! Well done!
Year 4: Matthew has been chosen as learner of the week for trying really hard with his handwriting and joining up his letters.
Year 5: Joanne is Learner of the Week. She has worked really hard on her division skills in Numeracy this week. Joanne has shown that she has listened carefully in lessons and has produced some excellent work. Well done Joanne!
Year 6: Our Learner of the Week is Jaden. Jaden takes part in all lessons with enthusiasm and always works really hard. This week, I have been particularly impressed with his writing in Literacy. His story opened with: "I feel alive!" bellowed Jack, as he swooped past a mountain at astronomical speed. I thoroughly enjoy reading Jaden's writing and he should be really proud of the high quality that he produces! Well done Jaden and keep this up!
Reception: Our learner of the week is Izzy. She has been working really hard on learning and practising her sounds. She knows the sounds we have learnt really well and is able to remember new sounds quickly. Izzy is also beginning to spot sounds in the books she is reading. Well done Izzy.
Year 1: Learner of the Week is Zoe. She has written some lovely descriptive phrases this week whilst we have been composing a whole class poem about bread. I really liked 'soft like a pillow' which was just one of the excellent phrases Zoe composed. Fab!
Year 2: Learner of the Week is Chloe. She too has worked extremely hard this week and came up with some fabulous adjectives and similes for our poem about bread, like 'shiny like a shield'. Just brilliant!
Year 3: Learner of the week this week is Phoebe. She worked really hard in Literacy to produce a fantastic Kennings poem, with terrific adjectives! Well done Phoebe!
Year 4: Learner of the week this week is Sheldon. He has settled well into the class and has tried hard in all lessons this week. Well done Sheldon!
Year 5: Learner of the Week is Rhys. When improving his Big Write on Monday, he made his writing so much better! The sentence started with too many "ands" but by the end of Rhys' editing session he had used commas to splice. What a difference!
Year 6: Shannon is Learner of the Week. She has worked really hard in Numeracy this week. Today (Thursday), she has proved that she is an expert at using the grid method to solve multiplication questions. She was so pleased with her achievements, she has chosen to practise further at home. Great work Shannon!
Reception: Our Learner of the week is Amelia. When Amelia came into school, which was only 5 weeks ago, she was not writing any letters at all. Now she can not only write all the letters in her name, she was also able to write some fantastic letters to make her own mini book. Well done Amelia.
Year 1: Our Learner of the Week is Benjamin. Ben has worked really hard in all subjects this week but I am especially pleased with the instructions he wrote for our BIG Write. Well done Ben, keep it up!
Year 2: Our Learner of the Week is Liam. Liam has been working really hard this week to improve his work and as a result his work is much, much better! Well done Liam, keep it up!
Year 3: Liam has been chosen as learner of the week for making excellent progress in numeracy. He has worked really hard developing his understanding of subtraction and moving up the steps on our learning ladder. Well done Liam!
Year 4: Jasmine has been chosen as learner of the week for writing an excellent descriptive opening for her big write story. Well done Jasmine!
Year 5: Learner of the week in Year 5 is Emily. Emily has worked really hard this week in her Springboard maths booster sessions. The effort Emily puts into all of her learning is superb. Keep this up!
Year 6: Lewis H is Learner of the Week. Lewis always works hard in and out of school and produces a high quality of work. This week, in particular, I was impressed with his Big Write. Lewis has shown that he can use punctuation accurately to create excellent sentences, e.g. "I'm hungry," moaned Koala boy, the youngest, "can we get something to eat?" Well done Lewis!
Reception: Our Learner of the Week is Isabelle. This week Isabelle's attitude and enthusiasm for learning has been brilliant. She worked hard on learning new sounds and her understanding of shapes was amazing. Well done Isabelle.
Year 1: This week our Learner of the Week is Rebecca. On Wednesday, we made fruit kebabs and Becky wrote a fabulous set of instructions that day after telling everyone how to make them. Great writing Becky!
Year 2: This week our Learner of the Week is Sam. This week Sam has shown real enthusiasm and enjoyment in everything we have done, and he is worked extremely hard. Well done Sam, keep it up!
Year 3: Learner of the Week is Tiago for showing a really positive attitude towards all of his work, and for practising his reading at home on a daily basis! Well done Tiago, keep it up!
Year 4: Millie has been chosen as learner of the week for working really hard in Literacy. She is improving her sentence structures, using a wide range of punctuation as well as powerful descriptive words and phrases! Well done Millie, keep up the hard work!
Year 5: Learner of the Week is Will. Will wrote a superb resolution to his story today, using his plan to help him. He worked really hard to make his writing a high quality, using a range of punctuation and great vocabulary! Keep this up!
Year 6: Jake is our Learner of the Week. Jake wrote a fantastic climax to his story yesterday in our Literacy lesson. We were all very impressed! Well done Jake.
