We had a very successful African Arts Week on Monday 6th June to Friday 10th June. All of the classes joined in with lessons in their classes in the morning learning about the continent Africa. In the afternoon all of the staff led African art workshops, with children from across all the classes working together. Children had the opportunity to make model giraffes, create African masks, design and make African musical instruments, create African prints and paint African silhouettes. On the last day, we welcomed the Abantu Arts Group who taught the children to play African drums and to create African dances. All of the children in each of the classes shared their work in a celebration assembly on the Friday afternoon in front of an audience of family members.
